Stewardship 2013

October  25, 2013

God’s grace and peace be with you!
We’ve had such a marvelous response to our April /May capital campaign, it almost defies imagination. God does things better than we can ask for or imagine with a little, or a lot of, help from the Body of Christ. Thank you!

After such an outpouring of generosity, we want to be very, very reasonable, realistic, and appreciative with our annual budget drive. So this year’s theme is “Holding our Ground.” Holding our ground is a term associated with consolidating positions of progress. We made great progress as a church in plant and facility refurbishment in 2013 and in retiring debt. We are better off for it.

At the same time, we also need to hold the ground of our day to day ministries. Literally, a thousand or more people pass through this campus every week to partake in some dimension of Christ’s love whether that be in worship, Christian Education, counseling, music, outreach or pastoral care. This is why we exist.

You have done so much, what we’d like to ask each of us to do is hold our ground on last year’s budget pledge. We will work to be good stewards of those dollars. While we pay off our capital pledges this year, if you can hold your budget pledge at the same level as last your, we should be in great shape.

Of course when we say, “Holding our Ground,” we really mean holding the ground God has given us, as we acknowledge all good gifts come from Him. Ours is His because we are His. You have been such marvelous stewards and generous disciples, we want to express again our heartfelt thanks.

May God take all our offerings and multiply them like loaves and fish: to serve, heal and glorify His kingdom. May He form us into conduits of that light who is our life and our peace.

                Christ’s blessings,

                       John
